New Trojan Viruses in end-user browsers

Page Updated: April 1, 2010

Recently, a number of financial institutions have reported incidents of browser-based viruses infecting end-users. These viruses are causing online banking websites to display a pop-up screen asking users to submit additional information for verification. The viruses do not change the URL line, making them even less conspicuous. Due to the critical nature of these viruses, we advise users to exercise extreme caution when sharing personal information online. In addition, you should ensure your antivirus is kept up-to-date.

If new information is released concerning these viruses, we will update you with the relevant information.
